Final Task: Unsolved

Image
We FINALLY finished the film! I am actually really happy with the way it turned out. This has been an amazing journey. Although we ran into a few problems here and there. It definitely did get stressful at times. But, we were able to work them out as a group and get everything done. It's always so much fun making these films with my friends. It's definitely an experience I never thought I'd enjoy this much. I'm a bit sad that this is our last big project for the year. Which is why I'm really excited to do AICE Media A level next year! We get to make an entire short film. I hope to work with the same group of people I have this year. We have already been brainstorming ideas for next years filming!

Almost Finished Editing!

Image
I was finally able to start editing our project! We finished filming the fifth scene on monday. I was relieved to have finally finished filming, especially having filming delayed so many times in the past month or so. So, having all the necessary components of our film, I was able to completely piece together our film. I used CuteCut to do this, which was probably the easiest part of the editing process. Once putting everything together, I made sure to cut the clips to the appropriate lengths. It did take a little bit of time, since some scenes needed more complex editing, like split screens and fading in and out effects. Once I put everything together, I realized we were well over two minutes. Especially since I had to leave a black screen at the end of the last scene of our film for the director title. So, I decided to make the decision to completely cut out the scenes we filmed of walking out our houses dressed to go to the funeral. It was also a scene that wasn't beneficial

Changes Made from Film Review

We finally ended up finishing almost all of our filming over this past weekend. We only have one scene left to film, which we plan on filming tomorrow. Then, we will have officially be finished with filming. After taking my friends suggestions into consideration, I made some changes to my project. We ended up completely cutting out the scene with Kaitlyn picking up the dress. It was definitely a smart move because it was unnecessary and took away from the limited length our film is allowed to be. After that, I also ended up cutting out the scene of us getting into the car. It was the same issue as the other scene cut out. It took away from time that we needed for the other, longer, more important scenes. I also made sure that the light on Kaitlyn was good enough. The night that we filmed the sixth scene, I had Camille subtly shine a flashlight on Kaitlyn (since she wasn't supposed to be in the shot just yet). It was just enough so that when her face was towards the camera, you

Sorting Out the Editing Process

Image
Although we still haven't been able to film the last of the scenes we need, I thought it was about time to start thinking about what we were going to do with editing. I have always been pretty good at editing. I've been doing it a lot in my free time the past few years. So when it came to these past few projects this year, I have been the main one to do the editing for the films we've made. I really do enjoy editing, and I think that I am actually decently skilled when it comes to it. It has been pretty satisfying having to be the one to edit the films. It feels good knowing that the person to put everything together and actually finish the film is me. I'm excited to be able to start putting these scenes together once they're filmed. Obviously I don't go through the editing process all alone. Whenever I see my group members, I plan on showing them my progress, getting feedback, and making adjustments from there. The reason our projects have come out so good i

Unfortunately, we have not been able to film as much as we've liked. We have only filmed the first, second, parts of the third, and seventh scene. Kaitlyn started to try and put the scenes together to try and speed up the process of editing the video, which I didn't find necessary as editing was fruitless until we had all the necessary scenes filmed. She did it anyway just to see what it looked like so far. She sent it in the group chat, and looking at it, it obviously didn't look the greatest. I showed a couple of my good friends what it looked like so far to see what they thought of it. Before showing them I explained that it wasn't finished (obviously). I also explained the general plot and idea of the film, which they all thought was cool. After showing they told me it was obviously missing a few things, which I knew, but that they liked the general idea. I asked them if there were any things they thought we should change or add to the film. One of them told me
