Film Review Blog

Unfortunately, we have not been able to film as much as we've liked. We have only filmed the first, second, parts of the third, and seventh scene. Kaitlyn started to try and put the scenes together to try and speed up the process of editing the video, which I didn't find necessary as editing was fruitless until we had all the necessary scenes filmed. She did it anyway just to see what it looked like so far. She sent it in the group chat, and looking at it, it obviously didn't look the greatest. I showed a couple of my good friends what it looked like so far to see what they thought of it. Before showing them I explained that it wasn't finished (obviously). I also explained the general plot and idea of the film, which they all thought was cool. After showing they told me it was obviously missing a few things, which I knew, but that they liked the general idea. I asked them if there were any things they thought we should change or add to the film. One of them told me that they didn't really find the scene of Kaitlyn picking up the dress necessary, and that maybe we should take it out. Another one said that the scene with Kaitlyn walking outside towards her car (which we hadn't filmed yet but I had explained to her) should be dark, but that we should make sure to have some light on her so that you can actually see her reactions and facial expressions. She also said that she really liked the idea of the last scene, but that we should make sure not to make it too cliche and obvious that things were fake. I had showed her a picture of the paper of the "TO DO LIST" that was supposed to be in that scene. With the fake printed blood splotches, she said it looked too fake and that we should try to make it more real looking. I had also suggested that a while back, but Kaitlyn was very set on the idea of keeping it. So after that, I thought that I'd probably bring up the comment gain, and try to suggest reprinting it without the blood splotches and using actual fake blood and putting on the paper. Either way, I'm glad I was able to get some honest feedback on the project. I appreciate my friends giving suggestions to help me and my group members. I can't wait to finish this and be able to show them the finished product.
