First Filming Day Was A Success!
Today, my group and I were able to start filming for our commercial. We had to receive a pass in case we got stopped by school security, but luckily we weren't. First, we started filming for our fourth scene at the school bus loop. It was a bit hot outside but luckily we were in the shade for most of the scenes. Filming this scene only took two takes. The first one was mainly a practice take, but the second came out exactly how we wanted it to. I was the one filming the scene, while Camille and Kaitlyn were the two actresses. After that, we did walk around a bit to see if we wanted to try it out in a different location, but we ended up sticking with what we had. Before returning to class, we took a quick mid-production picture. We also had to stop to go to the bathroom before walking back. Once we got in class, we started filming for parts of our second and third scene. I had forgotten to bring one of props, se we could only film with what we had. We used Kaitlyn's 12 pack of colored pencils and filmed our scenes. The part for the second scene did take a few takes, but we eventually ended up with a good shot. The scene was filmed from a high angle, so we needed to stand up on the table and film from above. The part for the third scene took a bit longer because it wasn't coming out the way we wanted it to. We tried different techniques of filming, and eventually just did it from what could be considered an eye level shot. Once we finished those, we started to better plan out what we were going to do the next opportunity we had to film. We talked about our locations and what was the most efficient order to do them in. I made sure to make a note to myself to NOT forget the prop next class.
